Shimla MC  Election Winners List 2017 Majority 

The BJP created history in the Shimla Municipal Corporation election. In Thursday's results, the party has achieved the highest number of seats ever. In the Shimla Municipal Corporation, which has 34 seats, the BJP has 17 seats and is placed at one place for the majority (18).The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposite Party Congress is contesting 12 seats. The Congress, which has turned  foam government  in the Shimla Municipal Council for 26 years, has lost power in the last 2012 elections.Four independent candidates and one CPI (M) candidate also won in the latest election. Even if it supports the support of three of the independents, the party is far from the majority of the 15 seats. The BJP, which is one of the lowest in the majority, has claimed that they will win the Shimla Municipality and support an independent candidate.

In May 2012, the Mayor and deputy mayor voted for the direct election process and the CPM party  took over. This time, in the indirect manner, the elections are held on the basis of the majority. This time it seems to be the victory of BJP.
